Born in France and raised around the world, Patrick Dumont brings a fresh, multicultural perspective to his music. His creative and passionate compositions encompass pop, dance, world beat and classical genres.
At the age of twenty-six, he was nominated for a ”Felix” (the Canadian Grammy) for Best Album of the Year.
In 2003, he was commissioned by the Santa Fe International Film Festival to compose the music for the Milagro Awards Ceremony.
Patrick’s most recent projects and accomplishments for 2004-2005 include:
- First Place at the Moondance International Film Festival for Best Film Score. (Forty-two countries participated with more than one thousand entries.)
- Contracted to provide the music for the creative video game “The Wild Divine”; The Wisdom Quest a Biofeedback game featuring Deepak Chopra.
- Composed the music for the 3D animation video used by Lockhead to promote NASA’s “Cassini” project, the historic landing of the space probe on Saturn and its moon, Titan. A formal presentation of the project, including Patrick’s music, was recently given at the White House.
- Recently completed the soundtrack for the documentary “The Water Edge” which aired on PBS on June 21, 2005.
- Composed the score for the documentary, Sita, a Girl from Jambu, by director Kathleen Man. This feature film will have its world premiere at the 2006 Boulder international film festival.
- Just joined the team of the feature film project Big River Blue, produced by film maker Brian Doubleday (Co-Producer of Instinct, a Touchstone Films starring Anthony Hopkins and Cuba Gooding, Jr.).
- Involved in starting the 13th chapter of NARAS (Grammy Award organization) for the four corner states.
Patrick is a humanitarian and a prolific composer that has been compared to the likes of John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Vangelis.
